Colchester Institute

Colchester Institute sell discounted First products via their student shop including the carnet tickets, termly tickets and an annual ticket to staff as well as students. You can also purchase the discounted Arriva carnet and 4 weekly ticket there too.

University of Essex

The University sell a heavily discounted annual UNIcard to staff and students. This allows unlimited travel on First buses within an inner zone within Colchester (£160) and an outer zone stretching to Clacton (£280) You can purchase these on campus. Find out more here.

If you don't want to commit to an annual UNIcard but want to use the bus some of the time, you can purchase discounted First carnet tickets offering 12 journeys over 1 month via the Colchester Travel Plan Club You can also purchase any of the discounted Arriva products.

Colchester Borough Council

Colchester Borough Council offers a 50% discount on a wide range of tickets including on the smaller operators through a reimbursement arrangement. Find out more on the Flexible Travel section of the intranet.  

Colchester Hospital University Foundation Trust

CHUFT offer a 50% discount on First and Colchester Borough Card (multi-operator) season tickets. You can currently buy these tickets from the First travel office in St Botolphs. Find out more about the range of tickets and how to get the discount from the Trust's Sustainable Travel pages on the intranet.

CHUFT are planning to have a Travel Centre at Colchester General in the future where staff will be able to purchase tickets direct.

CHUFT also sell Arriva 4 weekly tickets and First and Arriva carnet tickets at a 50% discount via the Colchester Travel Plan Club. If you are interested in these products apply here  and the 50% discount will be applied once we have received your application.

The discount on train season tickets is currently 10%. CHUFT staff can obtain the discount through the Colchester Travel Plan Club by applying here.
